Herne Hill

garden & planting design

This family wanted more space for playing sports, as they had little time available to garden. Working with landscapers, I decided to extend the lawn, remove an obtrusive wall and incorporate more storage.
As my clients are keen cooks I suggested a low-maintenance scheme with fragrant, culinary plants and mostly evergreen shrubs and climbers. I also included a bare-rooted plum tree from one of the finest specialist fruit nurseries, to complement the apple and pear trees growing in the neighbour’s garden. I provided detailed plant profiles on all the specimens in the garden including information on how and when to maintain them.
